Press TV really goes over the top on the Saudis


Can they be serious? Press TV have stooped to the lowest common denominator in disinformation. As if the Israelis would want the Saudis to have the bomb. And as it happens Prince Bandar is out of favour just now. Anyway talk about ridiculous:

Now, Saudi Arabia is prepared to “go nuclear,” to be what they consider the only real Islamic power with nuclear weapons.

This is the plan of “Bandar Bush,” Saudi defense minister, former ambassador to the United States and close Bush family confidant.

Saudi wants Dutch MP apology

Saudi Arabia has asked the Dutch government to intervene over remarks by an anti-immigration politician who said Muslims should ‘tear out half the Koran’ and wants him to apologise, a Saudi newspaper said on Sunday.

Geert Wilders said in an interview published last week that Muslims should dump half their holy book if they wanted to stay in the Netherlands and that he would chase Islam’s Prophet Mohammad out of the country if he was alive today.

Saudi Scribes say media burdened by clerics

The extensive air-time given over to conservative Muslim clerics by Saudi state media is hampering the government’s reformist message, Saudi journalists said yesterday. Religious scholars in conservative Saudi Arabia, which applies strict Islamic law, have wide access to the media where they back conservative policies on gender segregation that have become the subject of fierce debate.

Online Fatwas Incite Young Muslims to Jihad

In an article in the Saudi daily Al-Riyadh, columnist Fares bin Hazam reports that both preachers in mosques and online propaganda are inciting young Muslims to wage jihad. An interview with a young Muslim who went to fight in Afghanistan, also in Al-Riyadh, provides first-hand testimony confirming this claim.
